I subscribe to a number of wedding blogs and I love drinking my morning coffee and browsing thru them on a regular basis. I love to see other people’s creativity and get inspired by all the different things people are doing with weddings. The one thing that I haven’t seen on any of these blogs though is a shoot show casing a married couple that have spent most of their life together. I married my husband because I want to grow old with him, so I decided to find a couple that had grown old together and I would photograph them in the same way so many new and soon-to-be-married couples are being photographed. So without further adieu meet Les and Esme!

I love Les and Esme’s story, they met at a wedding! How perfect is that! She was a good friend of the bride and he was a groomsman. A year and a day after they met they were married in Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. They also recently found out that their grandchild is engaged. Their own mini-schnauzer passed a few years ago, but my friend Carolyne lent me a hand with the shoot and brought along her lil furball Finn. Les and Esme were immediately smitten.

It was such a delight to work with this awesome couple and I have to give a huge thanks to Erica, from Rook and Rose Floral Boutique for helping me make this happen! Also many thanks to Sharon Rai for doing the hair and makeup and North Park Bikes for lending me a beautiful Pashley Bike.
