Just before I moved to Canada my sister and I went backpacking in Europe for a couple of weeks and I finished off the trip attending the wedding of a good friend of mine. I took along my Holga and my D200 on that trip and had a great time shooting both. While in Rome, Mere and I got up early one morning to check out Trevi Fountain, while no one else was around and I took this shot with my Holga.

Walking through the streets of any city early in the morning is something I recommend to everyone. Not only is the light way better, the crowds are smaller but you get to see the actual city wake up. On our walk to Trevi Mere and I saw shops just opening, the markets getting set up and the streets getting cleaned. It wasn’t too hot and it seemed like all of Rome was ours for about 30 min. Maybe this weekend you want to rediscover your own town….. Happy Friday!
