Turning 30

Last week I was down in California to see my family and turn 30. I have a hard time believing that I am 30, but it’s the truth, so I might as well accept it. Actually it doesn’t freak me out all that much, mostly because I am really happy with my life and all that I have. I am looking forward to this year, and many, many more to come, which makes being 30 a whole lot less “scary”.  It was great to see my family without having to worry about running off for some shoot (the last three times I have been in the States, it’s been for work) and I had a chance to see some friends that I probably won’t have a chance to see again this year (all you Californian’s should come check out BC, it is beautiful here!).

Here are a few shots from the trip:

I’ve spent a lot of time in SeaTac this year and will probably be there at least 15 more hours before the end of summer……one of downfalls of living on an island. This was taken at Tartine. We went for the bread pudding. It’s the best. That and coffee was all we had for lunch….

Because we hit us Chez Panisse for dinner. I spent my 21st birthday at Chez too, and have almost this exact same photo to prove it (I am just too lazy to pull it out of it’s frame to scan it).

After dinner we peaked in downstairs to say hello to some of my old co-workers and Gianni insisted we all get a photo together……in the meat locker!Back at my Mother’s house she had to show us her 15 new birds, mostly chickens, but one goose and two ducks are all in the flock.

My mother has also taken up making cheese and she does a damn good job too. It was also great to see one of my oldest friends Amanda and we had a great time hiking just outside of my Mom’s backyard.

Cheers!
