I have known Erin Bradley for the last few years and love every chance I get to work with her. She has recently expanded her services to include both hair and make-up. We met up at her studio space at Uptown where she also offers help as one of their Style Directors.

How long have you been doing hair and makeup?
It seems like forever! I have been doing makeup professionally for over 14 years, and spent 7 of those years working at MAC Cosmetics. I have been on my own with my own business for 5 years in Victoria and I really do have a dream job! Aside from being a makeup artist, I also style hair and offer personal shopping/closet editing services. I love being able to offer my clients the full package. Details are everything when planning a wedding and I like to help each of my unique brides create the perfect look.
How far in advance should brides get in touch?
I would say a year is the safest. The first days to book up are always Saturday’s, then Sunday’s and Friday’s. Weekdays are much more open (except in grad season). Once you figure out your photographer book your makeup or hair artist! Usually I receive a lot of referrals from photographers so ask them if they have any favorites!
Flower crowns seemed to be pretty big last year, do you see any trends on the horizon for 2017?
Yes romantic up-swept top knots are showing up everywhere! The side chignon out many brides are choosing an updo that sweeps the hair off the face (think Charlize Theron). Trends will come and go though, so I feel that it is important to select the style that best suits the brides facial features, hair and dress. Same goes for makeup. You want to look like the best version of you possible :)
What is your advice to brides who feel overwhelmed by all the options out there, between wedding blogs and Pinterest the options seem endless?
Keep it simple and remember Pinterest is only an inspiration. Try to remember what the day is really about and yhink about what was memorable about other wedding you attended. You will always remember your dress, your makeup and hair, and how your partner looked at you when you walked down the aisle.
